“最佳撫觸 - 袋鼠抱抱”
“Best Touch, Kangaroo Hug”
Newborn babies are experiencing everything for the first time, including their first contact with other humans.
There is a hospital in Hong Kong provide “Kangaroo Care Programme” for newborns, letting newborns to get close contact with parents for an hour after born.
"Kangaroo care" is a skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth and in the first few days of life and is one kind of human touch that particularly benefits babies. This early contact helps improve the baby's breastfeeding ability and growth rates and promote healthy psychological and physical development. Lack of physical contact can prevent normal development and can even lead to higher rates of illness or death in infants. The benefits of human contact can be especially important for premature infants or infants born at a low birth weight. Healthy, effective human contact for babies includes cuddling, gentle massage, stroking and holding the newborn.
